I came up this morning at seven o’clock,
With thirty six towels that I’d bought,
And each one I spread
On a different sunbed,
Not just for revenge, but for sport.
And then we went off for the rest of the day,
And we lazed on the beds by the sea,
And we laid and got brown
Till the hot sun went down,
And then we returned for our tea.
And I went to the pool and I gathered each towel,
To the stares of the Germans and Dutch,
And I nodded my head
And I grinned and I said,
“Oh, thank you, oh, thank you so much.”

Not just for revenge, but for sport.

And we lazed on the beds by the sea,

To the stares of the Germans and Dutch,

“Oh, thank you, oh, thank you so much.”
